 Opportunistic Infections Among Patients in Cooperative Agreement Projects

This Knowledge Item shows the opportunistic infection rates (recorded at any time during the treatment episode) among Cooperative Agreement Project patients on whom detailed medical information was available. Note that this source of data is probably somewhat more subject to recording error than other types of data in this Knowledge Base as prior history of opportunistic infections may not be fully captured in medical charts. Also, the individual indicators should be conceptualized as indicating "diagnosis noted in chart" as opposed to "diagnosis not noted in chart." Some of the individuals for whom the diagnosis was not noted may have, in fact, had the diagnosis and it simply was not captured in the charts.
